Trim Levels (Exterior)

You can get the Escape's base S model if you want the least expensive option. Along with its appealing price point, this trim features front and rear skid plates, daytime running lamps, and dual chrome exhaust tips. Next in the lineup is the SE. This trim has more features including LED signature lighting, heated side mirrors, and a black mesh chrome surround on the upper grille. At the SEL trim level, you get stylish appearance elements such as fog lamps, black roof rack side rails, and a hands-free foot-activated liftgate. Go with the top-of-the-line Titanium to get rain-sensing windshield wipers.

Engine (Power)

Do you prefer gas power or a hybrid powertrain? With the Escape, you can choose your preference. It comes with either a 1.5-liter or a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine for those who like the performance of a gas-powered engine. Eco-minded drivers can equip a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline-four engine that's paired with an electric motor. This engine comes in the standard hybrid version as well as a plug-in hybrid version. Gas engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid models have a continuously variable transmission to move them through the gears.

Performance
