The iconic Ford Mustang has been cruising the streets for decades, and it continues to impress us with its stylish and modern features. Whether you're looking for a fast and powerful sports car or you just love the classic Mustang look, the latest addition to the family is sure to have a model that suits your needs. Read on to discover what's in store for you when you drive home in the 2020 Mustang.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
A range of trim levels means you can get exactly the features you want. The lineup starts out with the EcoBoost Fastback which offers slick appearance elements like dual bright exhaust with rolled polished tips, LED signature lighting, hood vents, and daytime running lights. As you move through the lineup, you gain more features that enhance the appearance of your Mustang. Higher trim levels are the EcoBoost Premium Fastback, EcoBoost Convertible, GT Fastback, EcoBoost Premium Convertible, GT Premium Convertible, GT Premium Fastback, BULLITT, and three Shelby models which are the GT350, GT350R, and GT500.
Engine (Power)
Several engines can be equipped on the 2020 Mustang, and which one you get will largely depend on your trim level. The EcoBoost models will have one of two engines. The first is a 2.3-liter that can produce 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, and the other is a 2.3-liter high-performance engine that generates 330 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. If you have a GT model, you'll get a capable 5.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. In the BULLITT, this same engine increases the horsepower to 480 by adding an air intake.
The Shelby GT350 comes with a 5.2-liter V-8 that pumps out 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, while upgrading to the Shelby GT500 gets you the power of a 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine. The projected horsepower for this engine is over 700.
Performance
When you want a zero to 60 time of less than 3 seconds, opt for the Shelby GT500 which has the most powerful production Mustang engine that has ever been found in the lineup. You can upgrade to get selectable drive modes to customize your driving experience.
Interior
On the inside, the Mustang has lots of comfortable features that make it ideal for your daily driver or your weekend adventurer. Cloth front bucket seats, a six-speaker stereo, two smart-charging USB ports, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, two cup holders, and a driver footrest are just some of the features you'll enjoy even at the base trim level. Upgrading will give you access to additional comforts like the Sync 3 infotainment system, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and much more.
Safety Features
Just because you drive a fast car doesn't mean you're not concerned with safety, and you'll find lots of safety features that give you peace of mind when you travel on the latest Ford Mustang. Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a lane keeping system, and adaptive cruise control are all features you can rely on when driving this car. A blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert will help you change lanes safely by alerting you to oncoming traffic in your blind spot.
