2020 Ford Expedition
When you're looking for a full-size SUV with best-in-class towing capacity and loads of modern technology features, consider the 2020 Ford Expedition. Check out these key features that make the 2020 Expedition such an appealing SUV.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Find the perfect Expedition from the four trim levels: XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum. Each of the four trims come as a sub trim Max version that adds nine inches to the overall length of the Expedition. The aggressive front grille proudly bears the Ford badging, and the body-colored dropped fascia, door handles, and bumper give the Expedition a seamless look. When you choose the King Ranch, or King Ranch Max trim, you get eye-catching 22-inch six-spoke machined-faced aluminum wheels with the distinct King Ranch center cap.
Engine (Power)
Under the hood of the XLT, Limited, and King Ranch trims, you'll find a 3.5-liter V-6 twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine that generates 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Move up to the Platinum trim, and you get the same 3.5-liter engine, but it delivers 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission pair with both engines and provides a seamless shifting experience.
Performance
Depending on how you plan on using your Expedition, you can choose rear-wheel drive, which comes standard, or the optional four-wheel-drive system. When you want the thrill of taking your SUV on rugged trails with uneven terrain, add the FX4 Off-Road Package that adds a beefier suspension and wider wheels. It's easy to haul a boat or trailer with the Expedition. When you add the trailer Towing Package, you get 9,200 pounds of towing capacity.
The intelligent terrain management system found standard on the four-wheel-drive trims lets you easily change driving modes with the simple turn of a dial. You'll notice how well the Expedition handles due to its continuously controlled damping suspension system, which is optional on all trims except the King Ranch, on which it's a standard feature. The independent front and rear suspension absorbs road shocks and bumps and gives the SUV a smooth ride.
Interior
The whole family will fit comfortably with three-rows of seats and room for eight people. Variable seat configurations allow you to carry up to 104.6 cubic feet of cargo space, and the standard Cargo Management System lets you organize luggage, groceries, and small personal items.
Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system has an 8-inch touch screen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Download the FordPass Connect app to get a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot, and keep mobile devices charged with the USB ports or the available wireless charger. Passengers riding in the back can enjoy watching DVDs or playing games with the available dual-headrest rear entertainment system.
Safety Features
When hauling a trailer, you'll enjoy the integrated trailer brake controller that synchronizes the Expeditions brakes with the trailer brakes for ultimate control. All trims of the Expedition come standard with Ford's Co-Pilot 360 driver-assist features. Key features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and automatic high-beam headlights. Additional safety features include a lane-keep assist system and adaptive cruise control.
